Day 1: Love and Gratitude
Day 1:
My Man - I am grateful for your willingness to jump into our family life as soon as you get home from work. Today LM was sick with a high fever. When you came home the house was a mess, LM was still in his jammies, and I had only taken a shower. My hair was in a bun and I had no makeup on. I wasn't feeling well myself, and you immediately picked up BG went upstairs and changed, and came back down and packed her diaper bag. Without complaint, you took BG to the grocery store and picked up dinner, giving me a much needed break, and getting much needed groceries. Thank you for being so willing to go to the store for last minute items, and picking up dinner when needed.
Little Man - I am so grateful I get to be your mom! Today you were sick. You had a fever of 103.2. It's been over a year since you've had a fever this high. All day long you've wanted to sit on my lap and just cuddle while we watch your t.v. shows. I have completely, and thoroughly enjoyed every second. As we watch your shows you ask me "what happened, momma, what happened" every one-two minutes. I love how you are so curious and want to learn so much about this world and what you see in it. I love you so deeply, Little Man! To think you could have been someone else's, or that you could have been aborted rather than adopted actually causes my heart pain. You are my sunshine and my miracle boy. I am so grateful for your sweet, presence and your love. Today, you introduced a new game where you whispered "I love you" in my ear as quietly as you could then kissed my cheek as softly as you could. You melt my heart. What a sweet and wonderful day this has been.
Baby Girl - I am so grateful I get to be your mom, my sweet baby girl! It was only a few days ago that you started sitting up on your own. Now, it's all you want to do. We have a 'Little People' nativity set that I put on the bottom shelf of our buffet. You love to sit there and play with it. When you look up at me it's like you are wanting me to acknowledge what a big girl you are! You are so absolutely delightful! Your dad just took you to the grocery store and when he came home he told me how much fun he had taking you as you attract so much attention because you are so beautiful! Everyone comments on what a gorgeous baby you are and how amazing your blue eyes are. You are stunning! Because it's been less than two weeks since your adoption I'm still in awe that you are ours! I am so unbelievably blessed to get to be your mother! I love you, my little baby girl!
Me - It's against my nature to keep a blog about things I love about myself - or what I am grateful for about myself. But hopefully that will change. I am so grateful that I am a mother. I love being a mother of 5 absolutely amazing children. One angel, two step, and two adopted. I am blessed beyond measure!
